Ever wanted to make those rich, dense brownies you find at coffee shops, that somehow have the crunch and chewy exterior, yet are very moist in the interior? Do I have the brownie recipe for you!
Ingredients
- 1.5 sticks unsalted butter
- 1.25 cups granulated sugar
- 2 Tbs vanilla extract (or 1 Tbs dried ground vanilla)
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz can) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325F. Melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat, whisking until browned, caramel scent should be present. Add cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla, simmer for 1 minute, whisking constantly.
- Keeping pot on the stove, whisk in condensed milk, powdered sugar, milk, and white chocolate chips until smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in both eggs. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour and granulated sugar. Fold together liquid mixture into flour/sugar bowl. Once well combined, mix in semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour into pan, bake for 1 hour.
- I use a 9 inch square pan, lined with parchment paper to easily pull the brownies out of the pan.
- Once the brownies have cooled, cut the whole pan of brownies, as they cool, they will develop that crunch you are looking for
Yield: 16 large brownies or 64 cubes
